Below is the timings for our paddle on Sunday 22nd December. As we have booked food with Unit 1 Micro Brewery for the end of the journey, it is in our own interest to arrive there on time. We will be commencing the paddle where the canal starts at Seabrook. We will park our vehicles  along Seabrook Rd. CT21 5RS and unload our boats onto the grass embankment by the side of the canal. ALL vehicles will then be driven to the Unit 1 Micro Brewery (CT21 4NB) and therefore be available for loading all the boats at the end of the journey. I have arranged for Dave Syrett and Les Hart (who are not paddling) to drive all the drivers back to Seabrook for the start of the paddle. Therefore the timing are as follows:

  • 12:00 Arrive at Seabrook and unload boats and equipment required while on the water.
  • 12:15 Drive vehicles to Unit 1 Micro Brewery.
  • 12:45 Arrive back at Seabrook and prepare to get on the water.
  • 13:00 Commence journey on the canal. This is a 4.1 mile journey, so we should do it comfortably in 2 hours.
  • 15:00 Arrive at Unit 1 Micro Brewery and load boats onto vehicles before eating and drinking.

Vehicles can park against the canal side of the fence which separates the canal from Unit 1 Micro Brewery. If there is insufficient room, there is a car park on the opposite side of the road over the canal bridge. Please note that there is a height barrier at the entrance to the car park, but there is sufficient room for two vehicles to park just before entering the car park.

Although I don't believe it will be necessary, we do have a contingency plan we can implement in the morning, if the weather conditions are too demanding.
