Join us on the River Stour for a peer paddle from Chartham to Old Mill and back.
We will meet at the car park by the football pitches on Thursday - see https://www.google.com/maps/@51.2558311,1.0187263,18z
We will walk our boats up to the bridge on church road then paddle up stream to the weir pool and see whats happening (expect it to be low). If people want to practice their roll or wet exit, they can do it close to the back and self rescue*
The should be on the water for no more that 2 hours so don't forget a drink and snack.
This trip is suitable for all members who can paddle in a straight line for 50m and self rescue.
Organiser: Malcolm Oates
Group leaders: Malcolm Oates and Sammy Deans
Don't forget, you must bring your own equipment as we are not currently able to offer equipment!
* A self rescue is generally an eskimo roll or swimming to the bank with your boat and paddle, retrieving it from the water and getting back in unassisted.
