Join us on the River Medway for a peer paddle from Hartlake bridge up to Oak Lock and back.
We will meet at on Hartlake road by the bridge on Saturday - see https://www.google.com/maps/@51.2011842,0.3087471,15z
The plan will be to paddle down river and run the canoe shoots and then paddle back to Hartlake. The main aim of the trip will be to repair members for the September Wales trip where we will focus on your support strokes along with breaking in and out of the flow. We might even through in a few seal launches off the lock for good measure
We should be on the water for around 4/5 hours so you will need to bring a drink and some lunch.
This trip is suitable for all members who can paddle in a straight line for 50m and self rescue*.
Organiser: Malcolm Oates
Group leaders: Malcolm Oates and Sammy Deans
Don't forget, you must bring your own equipment as we are not currently able to offer equipment!
* A self rescue is generally an eskimo roll or swimming to the bank with your boat and paddle, retrieving it from the water and getting back in unassisted.
