We will meet 10:30 in the carpark at Hampton jetty (CT6 8DL). This is a return journey from Hampton jetty traveling west past Whitstable harbour and stopping at the west beach for food before returning to Hampton jetty. It is 9 miles in total and as it's a return journey, there will be no problem in cutting it short, if necessary.
At present the weather is looking good, but it will be cold so make sure you are appropriately dressed. We will have tidal flow assistance during both legs of the trip. High tide is at 12:30.
At the present time I have health restrictions on where I can paddle. This route has been chosen as it offers the opportunity to evacuate to the beach and roadside, along the whole length of the route. This event is only suitable for members in sea kayaks who believe that they can paddle the 9 miles.
Make sure you come with your safety equipment, a change of clothes, hot drink and food. If you have any questions please contact Keith White before booking.
If weather conditions are unfavourable we will probably relocate to the Military Canal. A final decision will be made on Wednesday so keep an eye on Slack for updates.
