We will meet 10:00 at Princes Parade, adjacent to the Imperial Hotel's golf course. This is a return journey. The outward journey will be towards Folkestone. We will have the tidal stream against us, but this will not be significant as we will be close to a neap tide. After about 1.5 hours paddling we will take a break at Mermaids Beach and then return, with assistance of the tidal stream, to the start location. I wouldn't expect us to do more than 7 miles in total.
At present the weather is looking good, but it will be cold so make sure you are appropriately dressed.
At the present time I have health restrictions on where I can paddle. This route has been chosen as it offers the opportunity to evacuate to the beach and roadside, along the whole length of the route. This event is only suitable for members in sea kayaks who have been successful in performing rescues in the sea.
