Well, at last it looks like there is some calm weather on the way, so let's get on the sea. Therefore I hope you can join me this coming Thursday for a Peer paddle We will meet 10:00, along Princes Parade Hythe (what three words; ///commendedwheels shifting). We will paddle to Folkestone and either land just before the harbour, or go round the harbour to Sunny Sands. This will depend on sea conditions, arrival time, and who is paddling. The total return distance is about 9 miles, so it is open to members who can bring along a sea kayak, have paddled similar distance and have performed rescues. If you have any doubts regarding yours suitability please discuss this with me beforehand. You will need to make your own arrangement for collecting any club equipment you my need.
If we keep to the schedule of getting underway around 10:30, we will have favourable tidal flows for both the outward and return journey. It is likely to be cold so make sure you are appropriately dressed and I would suggest you bring a hot drink and a snack to eat. I would expect the total time of the journey, including stopping at Folkestone, will be around 4.5 hours.
