Hi Members
I hope you can join me this coming Sunday for a Peer Paddle We will meet 10:00, at Walpole Bay. To get there, turn onto Hodge's Gap from Palm Bay Avenue. This will take you onto the top of the sea defences, where you need to turn right and park up on the righthand side. (what three words; ///honey.mats.hint). We want to be on the water for 10:30. We will be travelling westward with a following tide and hugging the coast. After 4.5 miles we will arrive at Epple Bay where we will land for refreshments. We will do this outward journey comfortably within 2 hours. The return journey will commence after the tidal flow has reversed, so it will again be assisting us on our return to Walpole Bay. I expect us to be off the water before 15:30. The total return distance is about 9 miles, so it is open to members who can bring along a sea kayak, have paddled similar distance and have performed rescues. If you have any doubts regarding yours suitability please discuss this with me beforehand. You will need to make your own arrangement for collecting any club equipment you may need.
It is likely to be cold so make sure you are appropriately dressed and I would suggest you bring hot drinks, food, and a change of clothing.
