Join us on the Royal Military Canal for a gentle paddle starting from Hamstreet. We will decide which direction to paddle in on the day, as it is wind dependent. Sunset is approx 7.20pm.

We will meet at the bridge crossing Marsh road in Hamstreet. Location found here - https://what3words.com/refilled.pinging.erupt

If you do not have a boat, please park opposite the Garden Centre as this will free up space by the get in.

We will be on the water for around 1.5 hours, so don't forget a drink and/or snack.

This trip suits all members who can paddle in a straight line for 50m and self-rescue*.

One final note, there are no public toilets at Hamstreet, so please "GO" before you arrive. This also means that it will be alfresco changing facilities.

Organiser: Di Phillips + Claire Pitts

**Unless already organised, we will not be able transport club kit to hamstreet on this occasion**

* A self-rescue is generally an Eskimo roll or swimming to the bank with your boat and paddle, retrieving it from the water and getting back in unassisted.

Location: Royal Military Canal - Hamstreet

These sessions are suitable for all members who can paddle in a straight line for 50m and perform a self-rescue**.

* We are now using WHAT3WORD when giving out meet up locations; it provides a more precis location for more remote sites that we use. If you do not already have it on your phone, we strongly advise downloading the app, its free so no reason not to have it. It is also used by emergency services throughout the southeast and can be given as a location reference when needing their services. (https://what3words.com/).

You can use the Navigate button on WHAT3WORDS to transfer to Google Maps for directions.

** A self-rescue is generally an eskimo roll/rescue or swimming to the bank with your boat and paddle, retrieving it from the water and getting back in unassisted. This can be taught in the skills session.
